Please review this draft modification carefully to ensure your thorough understanding of the information, conditions, and requirements it contains. The draft modification permit pages include the following significant changes from the existing permit: 1. A compliance period of six(6)months from the permit modification effective date has been added in Section A. (1) as footnote#9 allowing weekly monitoring for pH, dissolved oxygen, BOD, total suspended solids, and upstream and downstream temperature. At the end of this six (6)months, monitoring will revert to 3/Week as stated in the permit. 2. A compliance period of six (6)months from the permit modification effective date has been added in Section A. (1) as footnote#10 allowing 2/Week monitoring for total residual chlorine. At the end of this six(6)months,monitoring will revert to 3/Week as stated in the permit. laPirll IM) b. Page 3 of 9 Permit NC0031828 Footnotes: 1. The permittee shall submit discharge monitoring reports electronically using the NC DWR's eDMR application system[see Section A. (6)]. 2. Upstream=at NCSR 1440. Downstream=approximately 2 miles downstream from the outfall. 3. The Division shall consider all effluent TRC values reported below 50 µg/L to be in compliance with the permit.However,the Permittee shall continue to record and submit all values reported by a North Carolina certified laboratory(including field certified),even if these values fall below 50 µg/L. 4. The monthly average effluent BOD5 and TSS concentrations shall not exceed 15%of the respective influent value(85%removal). 5. For a given wastewater sample,TN=TKN+NO2-N+NO3-N,where TN is Total Nitrogen and TKN is Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen. , 6. TN Load is the mass load of Total Nitrogen discharged in a given pro of time. See Section A. (2) Calculation of Total Nitrogen Loads. 7. The monthly average for total phosphorus shall be the average of cbmposite samples collected monthly. 8.
