3e. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used.
Temporary disturbance/impacts as shown and described herein and on the plans are to be completed
within 24-48 hrs. Contractor to install during a dry period and forecasted day and as approved by the
Engineer. Contractor to install temporary impervious dike as needed to control the flow of incoming
water and pump around the excavation site and into the downstream existing 60" corrugated metal
pipe. Once stream water diversion is in place and operable, the contractor will commence operations of
digging the bore pit section of the trench in order to install the 20" steel encasement bore. Immediately
following the installation of the encasement, the 10" ductile iron sewer main carrier pipe will be
installed in the encasement, and upstream by open trench towards the Villa Grande project, including
MH#1, MH#2, and gravity sewers in their vicinity and within the buffers. Equipment to be used for open
trenching is tracked excavators, with standard trench boxes for shoring as typical and required. Upon
completion of the sewer manholes and gravity sewer mains, the trenches will be closed and material
compacted as typical to re-establish pre -construction grades. All area previously disturbed and closed
will be immediately permanently seeded and mulched as per the specifications, with jute matting
installed as necessary. Finally all temporary stream water diversions and pumping operations will be
removed.
