The Solid Waste Section (SWS) reviewed your request of approval to increase waste disposal capacity by
removing the inactive haul road inside the approval waste disposal boundary, as shown the highlighted area on
the drawing attached to this e-mail message. According to your 12/22/17 e-mail message, the new capacity of
the landfill will increase approximately 7 percent from the approved one - 1,171,981 cubic yards which is
approved in the permit (DIN 25727) dated April 19, 2016.

Based on the review, the SWS approves your request. Please place this approval document to the facility
operating record. When the permit is subjected to renewal on and before October 15, 2020, please
incorporate/update the revised capacity to the new permit application and site plan accordingly.

I talked with Ming from the Winston Salem office, I have attached a highlighted plan
showing the area/access road we are interested in . A rough estimate is that the additional fill is less than 7%
of the total capacity for the LCID approval. Thanks

What does your workload look like now? I got this request and I am a little backlogged at the moment. Additionally, I
don’t know the answer to their question. Additionally, these LCIDs are a pain in the you know what. Would you have
time to take a look at it? If not let me know and I’ll see if I can find someone else.

Mr. Fryer has asked that we inquire if he can have an abandoned service road that is no longer in use
and revise his grading plan from the last submission. The service road would eventually be in a valley between the
proposed 2016 fill area and the existing ridge along the southern area of the property ( see attached PDF plan showing
the new proposed grades). Thanks
