Dear Ms. Werner,

Duke Energy Carolinas (DEC), Belews Creek Steam Station, received a concurrence letter from North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) Division of Waste Management (Division) for drilling USEPA CCR wells at the FGD Landfill (Permit No. INDUS-8505) on March 29, 2016. The
concurrence was based on the well location drawing that was provided on March 23, 2016.
The originally provided map showed eighteen (18) wells being installed at the FGD Landfill. The revised
map (attached) shows twenty-four (24) wells. With this letter DEC requests concurrence for the revised drilling plan at the FGD Landfill.
