Industrial Waste Landfill Annual Report

Dear Ms. McKee:

Attached is the completed Industrial Landfill Annual Report form for Duke Energy’s Allen Steam
Station Retired Ash Basin (RAB) Ash Landfill (Permit No. 36-12) for the past year (7/1/2014 to
6/30/2015).

The landfill only accepts waste from Duke Energy’s Allen Steam Station. A total of approximately
144,791 tons of waste was received by the landfill during the most recent twelve-month period.
Since the landfill went into operation and through the most recent survey on April 1, 2015,
approximately 966,651 cubic yards and 1,092,682 tons of waste have been disposed in the landfill.

As required by G.S. 130A-309.09D(b), the County Manager for any county that generated waste
for disposal to this landfill must be sent a copy of the Annual Report. Therefore, a copy of this
Annual Report is provided to the County Manager for Gaston County.
