This letter report provides the signed Notification, a summary of the groundwater monitoring wells with tabulated laboratory analytical results and comparisons to the North Carolina 2L Standards (NC2L) or Groundwater Protection Standards (GWPS), and a site map. The following list indicates the analytes detected above their respective NC2L or GWPS at each sampling location. Estimated or ā€œJā€ flag detections are also provided and are identified with an ā€œ*ā€ qualifier. A complete summary of all detected and estimated concentrations for metals for the September 2016 and previous sampling events is provided in Table 1. Laboratory analytical data reports will be provided with the semi-annual sampling report. Historically, these metals have also been detected in the deep background monitoring well (MW-11D) above the NC 2L Standards. The chromium, cobalt, thallium, and vanadium concentrations in the compliance monitoring wells above the NC 2L Standards are likely naturally occurring based on the historical detections and concentrations in the background and compliance monitoring wells at the site. These concentrations will be evaluated as part of an alternative source demonstration (ASD). The ASD will be submitted following evaluation of the current and historic data and site conditions.
