Dear Mr. Nuss;
On May 8, 2017, the Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section (Section) received
Stericycle, Inc.’s request;
Request to Rescind Permit 7907. Prepared by Stericycle, Inc. May 2017. DIN 27748.
Attached to the request was a copy of the April 27, 2017 inspection report, of the inspection
conducted by Section staff. During that inspection, it was determined that the Stericycle
Environmental Solutions’ Rockingham County facility was engaged in the sorting and recycling
of source separated recyclables. Section staff determined that the facility did not require a solid
waste permit for the activities it is currently engaged in. Stericycle, Inc.’s request, referenced
above, is to rescind the current solid waste permit.
The Section has reviewed Stericycle, Inc.’s request and has placed 7907-TRANSFER-2016 in an
inactive/closed status. In the future, should the nature of this facility’s activities require a solid
waste permit a complete new permit application, associated permitting fee and permit issued by
the Section will be required prior to commencement of operations. All documents referenced in
