Cabarrus County, DIN 27416 Dear Mr. Nuss: On May 27, 2015 the Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section (Section) received Stericycle, Inc.’s application for a permit to operate, five (5) year renewal, at the Concord Facility (Facility), located in Cabarrus County. The application was entitled: Stericycle, Steam Sterilization Operating Plan, 4403 Republic Court, Concord, NC 28027. Prepared by Stericycle, Inc. May 2015. DIN 24373. On September 16, 2015 the Section sent the Facility the letter entitled; Permit to Operate Application, Determination of Completeness, Permit No. 1305TP-TP-, Stericycle, Inc., Cabarrus County, DIN 25009. Prepared by the Solid Waste Section. September 2015. The Section has completed the technical review of the application and the following issues remain to be addressed; 1. Revise the first paragraph of section 2.5 Storage of the Operations Plan to reference North Carolina Administrative Code 15A NCAC 13B .1207 Operational Requirements for Regulated Medical Waste Treatment Facilities, rather than 15A NCAC 13B .1206. 2. Revise section 2.5 Storage of the Operations Plan, by removing the third paragraph, the paragraph begins with” Regulated medical waste shall…” 3. Revise the title of section 6.0 to Contingency Plan, rather than Bypass and Residual Plan Please address the issues presented in this letter and submit a revised Operations Plan.
