Dear Ms. Smith:
On February 9, 2017 the Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section (Section) received
a request from CHR on behalf of Gaston County (County) entitled;
Phase 2 Construction, Gaston County Landfill, Gaston County, North Carolina, CHA Project
Number 21420.Prepared for Gaston County. Prepared by CHR. February 2017. DIN 27393.
The request is for Section approval of a stormwater pipe that would be temporarily installed to convey
stormwater, captured on the Cell 1B and Cell 2 raincover areas of Unit II Phase 2. The Section has
reviewed the information provided and approves of the stormwater pipe installation.
Make note of the following items;
 Immediately provide the Section with engineered drawings and specifications for the
installation of the proposed pipe, as well as including them in the certification and as-built
drawings.
