Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 3 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 1. All photographs were taken by Lee Hill on January 17, 2017. 2. The facility is secured by a gate to prevent unauthorized access. 3. Ground and surface water monitoring is being conducted on a semi-annual basis. The October 12, 2015 and April 12, 2016 ground and surface water reports were available for review. 4. A landfill gas assessment was conducted in 1999 and the Solid Waste Section responded on February 2, 2000 stating that further monitoring was not required. 5. Vegetative cover was well established on the cap and is being mowed and maintained on a regular basis. 6. No erosion issues or ponding water was observed on the cap. 7. Ground water monitoring wells were observed and were secured with the exception of MW-2. The hinges on MW-2 were broken. Please repair the hinges on MW-2.
