(MESCO) is notifying the Solid Waste Section (SWS) that groundwater monitoring well MW-BG was installed on November 4, 2016. MW-BG is located hydraulically upgradient of all future landfill phases which replaces MW-50R as the new background well. The SWS pre-authorized the background well replacement on October 4, 2016 (DIN:26809). MW-BG was installed near the planned location as shown on Figure 1. MW-BG was screened primarily in partially weathered rock that terminated near top of bedrock at 40 feet below land surface. MW-BG well construction record (GW-1) is attached. The location of MW-BG is planned to be land surveyed. Beginning with the next event scheduled for February 2017 MW-BG will and previous background well MW-50R will not be sampled on a semiannual basis.
