The letter was submitted in response to correspondence from the Section dated August 8, 2016 (DIN 26551) requiring Gaston County to address inorganic constituent exceedances. In response to the inorganic groundwater exceedances at the landfill and in accordance with 15A NCAC 13B .1633, Gaston County will be conducting an Alternate Source Demonstration (ASD). In addition, Gaston County is requesting an extension to submit the ASD by December 29, 2017. As a result, the extension request is approved as described.
