The actual compost operation is approximately 27 acres. This Permit to Operate shall expire March 04, 2020. PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT: Partial Comprehensive Compliance Inspection of a Large Type IV Compost Facility. STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS: None OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: None FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 1 – This was a partial facility compliance inspection conducted after Hurricane Matthew. 2 – No records were reviewed during this inspection. 3 – Facility has proper signage posted. 4 – The access road is constructed of all-weather material. 5 – Windrows dimensions meet permit conditions of a maximum of 8 feet in height and 18 feet in width. 6 – Minimal to no odors noted during this inspection. 7 – The leachate pond had been pumped down before Hurricane Matthew as to ensure adequate storage to prevent any issues during and after the Hurricane. 8 – Overall site looked to be managed well. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
