The landfill only accepts waste from Duke Energy’s Cliffside Steam Station. A total of approximately 331,892 tons of waste was received by the landfill during the most recent twelve- month period. Since the landfill went into operation and through the most recent survey on April 16, 2014, approximately 499,303 cubic yards and 616,709 tons of waste have been disposed of in the landfill. As required by G.S. 130A-309.09D(b), the County Manager for any county that generated waste for disposal to this landfill must be sent a copy of the Annual Report. The station lies on the Rutherford/Cleveland County line. The Permit to Operate for the landfill references Rutherford County. The waste reported in this annual report was received from Cleveland County, with a small amount also receive from Gaston County.
