The material primarily consists of old plastic flower pots and potting soil. Henderson County is proposing doing the sorting and separation of this material on the former white goods/ future compost area at the Transfer Station (see highlighted area on attached map) after Carolina Mulch/Cason has analyzed the material with a TCLP test. The TCLP test will be performed on the current site where the abandoned material is located. Once the TCLP results are known, the material will be moved to the identified location at the Transfer Station, where it will then be sorted and discarded or recycled if applicable. It is anticipated this process should be complete by March 17, 2017 (10 months). If you have any questions please contact me at gwiggins@hendersoncountync.org or by phone at (828) 301-7555.
