Smith; Joseph Jeffries; Paula Stewart; Patterson, Elizabeth; Hammonds, Andrew; Mussler, Ed Subject:Dunn Erwin Transfer Station Hopper Modifications and Closure, Permit # 4307T, DIN 26590 Hi Amada: The Solid Waste Section (SWS) is noted that the metal hopper at the Harnett County (the County) Dunn-Erwin Transfer Station, Permit No. 4307T-Transfer-1997 will be subjected to replacement on September 09, 2016. To complete the task the County plans to cease waste transfer activities at the above-mentioned transfer station for approximately two weeks. The SWS determines that the proposed activities at the transfer station is a routine maintenance, and no permit action is required. The County may need to visibly post the facility closure notice at the facility and to provide the general public advanced information through various mass media of the scheduled temporary closure. The current hopper is damaged and too narrow. We are proposing to begin replacement of the hopper on September 9, 2016. We propose to close the transfer station for two weeks for these modifications.
