ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Yard Waste Notification is for the collection and processing of land clearing debris and yard trash. The
facility is to remain under 2 acres in size and process and store less than 6,000 cubic yards on a quarterly basis.
2. The facility also receives single hammered mulch to be reground. The tonnage for single hammered mulch is not
included in the 6,000 cubic yards total.
3. Take measures to ensure that the 50-foot minimum buffer from yard waste activities and all property lines are
being maintained.
4. Yard trash is defined in 15A NCAC 13B .0101(55) as solid waste resulting from landscaping and yard
maintenance such as brush, grass, tree limbs and similar vegetative material. Continue to ensure that yard trash is
taken to a facility that has been permitted by the Division of Waste Management to accept such waste. If the
facility chooses to process yard trash, this material must be properly composted.
5. A gate is located at the entrance to the facility to prevent unauthorized access.
