The WWTP project will also consist of repairs and improvements including replacing rapid sand filters with disc filter units, upgrading to a UV disinfection system, replacing four aeration blowers, improving the backwash waste pump, and removing and replacing sidewalks, asphalt and gravel pavement and hatches. Coal combustion by-product will be used as backfill for the demolition of the rapid sand filters only.
