The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. Proper signage was observed at the entrance of the facility.
2. The facility is permitted to receive solid waste within approximately 100 miles around the landfill.
3. Edge of waste markers were visible.
4. The working face was small and compact.
5. The facility is currently working in Phase 3B.
6. The facility had pulled four tires out of the working face and set aside to dispose of properly. Three additional tires
were observed in the working face and Mr. Geiss stated he would remove them at the conclusion of the inspection.
No other unacceptable waste was observed.
7. A "roll off container" is staged near the working face for the collection of scrap tires.
8. All access roads maintained in good condition and the facility applies water to keep the dust down.
9. The facility is scheduled to mow the inactive areas in September/October.
Records Review
10. Reviewed 2nd Semi-annual groundwater monitoring report sampled on November 2, 2021, 1 st Semi-annual
groundwater monitoring report sampled on May 27, 2022. Surface water monitoring is performed semi-annually
with their groundwater monitoring.
11. Quarterly landfill gas monitoring is performed by Blue Flame LLC. 4' Quarter 2021, 1S1 Quarter 2022 and 2'
Quarter 2022.
12. The facility utilizes soil for required cover which is applied weekly.

inspection each day.
