(via phone) STATUS OF PERMIT: Permit To Operate (PTO) issued August 1, 2017 Permit To Construct (PTC) issued in conjunction with PTO PTC/PTO expiration date August 1, 2022 PTC/PTO renewal application received July 27, 2022 PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT: Comprehensive Inspection STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS: None OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: None FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS On August 04, 2022 Chuck Kirchner conducted an inspection of the Martin Marietta Viewmont Road Mine and LCID Landfill located on Viewmont Road in Greensboro, Guilford County. There is no work to date on the landfill. Chuck Kirchner and Mr. Nivens discussed the requirements of a comprehensive inspection for the Viewmont Road LCID Landfill via telephone on August 04, 2022. 1. The facility is a [purposed] land clearing and inert debris (LCID) landfill. 2. The property is owned by Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. 3. The landfill has not been constructed to date. No construction activity has occurred. 4. A renewal application dated and submitted to this office on July 27, 2022 is currently under review. 5. Mr. Nivens stated that there are no immediate plans to construct the LCID landfill. 6. The facility annual report (FAR) dated June 22, 2022 was received by the SWS. The facility did not accept waste during this reporting period and the throughput for July 2021 through June 2022 is zero tons. 7. Please contact this office 30 days prior to beginning of operations at this LCID facility. 8. The permittee is required to notify the Division in writing in the event the permitted facility is sold or closed. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
