METHANE MONITORING RESULTS — FIRST QUARTERLY EVENT FOR 2022
HIGH POINT CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION LANDFILL AND RECLAMATION FACILITY
PERMIT NO. 41-16
Dear Joe,
Attached are the results from the January 26, 2022, quarterly methane monitoring at the above -referenced facility
for your files. As shown on the attached Landfill Gas Monitoring Data Form, methane was detected at
concentrations above the lower explosive limit (LEL) at landfill gas monitoring probe LFG-2A. Methane was not
detected in any other monitoring points during the event.
A Landfill Gas Remediation Plan (LFGRP) was submitted to the North Carolina Department of Environmental
Quality (NC DEQ) by Smith+Gardner on July 26, 2021 and was approved by the NC DEQ on August 2, 2021. As
proposed in the LFGRP, the installation of vent in the berm adjacent to LFG-2A and re -grading the area to
promote better drainage began on July 23, 2021. Golder installed two additional vents in the vicinity of LFG-2A
on September 13, 2021. Smith+Gardner submitted a Landfill Gas Remediation System Construction Record and
Update Report to the NC DEQ on November 4, 2021. The installation of an additional landfill gas monitoring
probe (IP-1) between the landfill was unit and LFG-2A was proposed. The probe was installed in December 2021
and landfill gas monitoring results are included in this report. If you have any questions or concerns, please
contact us at 336 852-4903.
