Box 489, Laurinburg, NC 28353 SUBJECT: Resolution of Notice of Violation Scotland County Transfer Station 8302T-TRANSFER-1997 Scotland County Dear Mr. Higgins: On October 26, 2021, David Powell, representing the State of North Carolina, Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section (Section) inspected the above referenced facility. At the time of the inspection, Section staff observed the leachate area has been cleaned up and a new berm installed for trailers to back onto. New leachate collection bins are now also available and being used in conjunction with 55-gallon drums. Drums will allow for any leak discovered along the trailer to have a collection bin. A sampling plan was submitted to the Section, approved, and satisfied, with no further action required per email dated September 27, 2021, from Mr. Williams Sugg with the Section. This letter serves to confirm that the requirements of the Notice of Violation dated August 31, 2021, have been satisfied and the violation(s) have been corrected.
