We are pleased to announce that Standard Insulating Co., Inc. of 1105
N. Church St., Charlotte, NC has been notified to proceed with the
asbestos removal project at the Belk Arts Building on the campus of
Western Carolina University located at Cullowhee, NC.
The approximate starting date will be on June 9, 1982 with actual asbestos
removal begining approximately on June 14, 1982. The completion date
will be within 60 days.
A copy of the specifications by Wood & Cort, p.a. - Architects, will
be forwarded per your request.
The asbestos waste will be deposited at the Jackson County North Carolina
Landfill located at Cullowhee.
The job site implementation and supervision responsibilities of this
project have been assigned to Alfred Just, Project Manager, Standard
Insulating Co., Inc.

On December 21, 1981 and May 12, 1982, 1 inspected the Jackson County land-
fill, Cullowhee, NC. This letter is to notify you that the following
violations of the N. C. Solid Waste Management Rules were recorded on these
two consecutive inspections:
-Failure to maintain "proper slope on working face" resulting
in "surface water impounded" - DHS Rule .0505 (12).
We are requiring that these violations be brought into compliance by July 1,
1982.
Any violations of the Solid Waste lianagement Rules are subject to adminis-
trative penalties or injunctive action pursuant to G.S. 130-166 21E.
