The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

01 – This on-site meeting was scheduled for February 04, 2021 (On Last Inspection Report) but had to be cancelled by
John College. 02 – The on-site meeting is to discuss proper management of a Notified Yard Waste Facility (YWN) with The Murfreesboro Town Administrator (Carolyn Brown) and other staff if possible.
03 – During this meeting, John College discussed the rules and presented the 2016 Yard Waste Training Power Point with attendees. 04 – Carolyn Brown is to discuss what is needed to achieve compliance at this YWN to the Town Counsel at this week’s meeting. 05 – The facility does have a horizontal chipper that will chip the waste up to 4 inches only. Has been using it on some waste but has a lot of larger waste to deal with. 06 – Carolyn Brown has been in contact with a contractor that may be able to help. 07 – Another meeting will be schedule soon. 08 – There is currently no Public Works Director for the Town of Murfreesboro. 09 – Covid-19 requirements were followed during this inspection. 10 – Digital pictures were not taken during this meeting.
