The Solid Waste Section sees no issue with abandoning these wells (MW-25, MW-26, MW-17, LA-PZ-01R, and LA-PZ-02)
before the pre -construction meeting. The facility shall submit well abandonment records (Form GW-30) upon
completion of abandoning the wells. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

With receipt of the Asheville CCR Landfill (1119-INDUS) Permit to Construct, we will be abandoning the wells and
piezometers listed below that are located within the construction activities footprint, in accordance with 15A NCAC 2C
.0113(b)(1). A figure is also attached circling the referenced wells.

• LA-PZ-02
Is there any issue with abandoning these wells prior to the pre -construction meeting to be held with NCDEQ per permit
requirement Part 1-3 in Attachment 2?
I have also cc'ed Ted Campbell with the DWR — Asheville Regional Office as confirmation that no wells will be abandoned
that are included as part of the CAMA Interim Monitoring Program. Three of the wells/piezometers installed in the
landfill area have duplicate names to CAMA-IMP wells (MW-25, MW-26, and MW-27), but these are not the same wells
that are identified in the IMP.
