On behalf of Rowan County Department of Environmental Management (Rowan), Golder Associates NC, Inc.
(Golder) is submitting this request for the above -referenced facility. During the August 8, 2018, February 21, 2019
and August 14, 2019, sampling events, the constituent 1,4-dioxane was analyzed for all required groundwater and
surface water samples as requested in the May 29, 2018, memorandum from the Solid Waste Section. As
reported in our August 8, 2018, February 21, 2019 and August 14, 2019, semi-annual water quality monitoring
reports, 1,4-dioxane was not found to be present in any groundwater or surface water samples during either event
at the municipal solid waste facility. Therefore, we are respectfully requesting that this parameter be omitted
during future sampling events at the municipal solid waste facility.
