STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS:
A. 15A NCAC 13B .1626(4)(a)(ii): Resolved. A landfill gas cut-off trench was approved by the section on
September 16, 2016. Construction on the trench began on November 28, 2016 and was completed on
December 16, 2016. The installation of the trench has stopped the landfill gas exceedances at MP-4.

The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. All photos were taken by Lee Hill on September 26, 2019.
2. The facility stopped receiving construction and demolition on June 30, 2008.
3. Groundwater monitoring is being conducted semiannually and sent to the section for review.
4. Landfill gas monitoring is being conducted quarterly and records were available for review. No exceedances
were noted at the facility boundary.
5. A landfill gas cut-off trench was approved by the section on September 16, 2016 to stop the exceedances that
were occurring at MP-4. Construction on the trench began on November 28, 2016 and was completed on
December 16, 2016. The installation of the trench has stopped the landfill gas exceedances at MP-4.
6. The landfill cap had good vegetative cover. The landfill was mowed on September 18, 2019 and no woody
vegetation was observed.
7. All groundwater wells that were observed were locked and had identification plates installed.
8. Edge of Waste markers constructed of metal signs and poles were installed around the landfill.
9. The facility continues to make improvements on and around the landfill to maintain positive drainage.
