Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 3 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS Documentation 1. The permit and Operations Plan are kept onsite as required. 2. The facility operates Monday through Saturday from 8am to 4:30pm 3. The Certified Transfer Station Operators on record are: Berry Long 10/19/19 Kenny Barham 5/1/19 Robert Baker 6/3/20 Beverly Marshall 10/19/19 G. Scott Fowler 12/19/20 Matthew Stanley 12/9/19 4. No problems were noted regarding the Tire Certifications. 5. Random waste screening is being performed and documented. Site Conditions 1. The tipping floor is rinsed throughout the day and thoroughly cleaned at the end of the operating day. Pressure washing of the building structure is recommended. 2. Tires are being stored in closed trailers. 3. Construction/demolition waste is placed in containers for transfer. 4. Metals are placed in a container for recycling. 5. Signs have been placed at the convenience area to aid proper disposal and recycling. 6. Some windblown debris was noted, which is removed daily. 7. Mowing has occurred around the scalehouse, but not on/around the Transfer Station slopes/structure, loading bay, side slopes, and stormwater ditches. Be sure to maintain the entire area so windblown debris can be seen and removed and the grounds adequately inspected. Mowing is needed as noted above.
