a postconsumer recycled asphalt shingles (PRAS) operation (T&P), and a Temporary Disaster Debris Staging
Site (TDDSS).
2. The facility operates a source-separated recycled materials processing building. Segregated loads of recyclable
materials: cardboard, paper, plastic, and metal is received [hauled-in] from Alamance County convenience
centers. The recyclable material is baled and hauled-off site.
3. Mr. Patrone was informed that there was a fire at the [MSW landfill] facility by Richard Hill, Solid Waste Director
- Alamance County Landfill, via voicemail message on Wednesday evening July 4, 2018.
4. Mr. Hill stated that the landfill working face had been on fire during the late afternoon of July 4th and that the fire
was put-out by the fire department(s) in about three hours. Additionally, he stated that the landfill received heavy
rains later that evening.
5. Mr. Patrone contacted Emily Ball, Assistant Solid Waste Director – Alamance County Landfill, during the

9. Ms. Ball stated that the working face was covered with a tarp (100’ x 100’) and the adjacent area was covered
with Posi-Shell (200’ x 200’). It was stated that the tarp was ruined by the landfill fire.
