Subject: April 2017 Semi-Annual Leachate Sampling Results
North Wake Subtitle D Landfill
Facility Permit No. 9209-MSWLF-1996
Dear Ms. Drummond:
CDM Smith Inc., on behalf of Wake County, is submitting an electronic copy of the April 2017
semi-annual leachate sampling results. Leachate samples were collected from the leachate sampling
station at the Wake County Subtitle D Landfill on April 11, 2017. Water quality parameters at the time
samples were collected are presented in Table 1. Shealy Environmental Services, Inc. located in West
Columbia, South Carolina, analyzed the leachate samples for North Carolina Appendix I volatile
organic compounds and metals along with biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand,
phosphate, nitrate, and sulfate. Laboratory analytical results are provided in Appendix A. A copy of
this report will be placed in the operating record for this facility.
If you have any questions or require further explanation, do not hesitate to call me at 919-325-3500.
Very truly yours,
Mathew F. Colone, P.G.
