The Gas Control Plan in Appendix B of the referenced plan specifies that hydrogen sulfide, in addition to methane, be monitored at site landfill gas monitoring locations. These locations include LG-1 through LG-11 and the scale house. Field Methods ELM Site Solutions personnel mobilized to the site on April 28, 2017, to collect a full round of landfill gas measurements at the site gas monitoring well locations and the scale house. A calibrated Landtec GEM 2000 Plus gas meter was used to measure landfill gas at each sample location. After purging the instrument for at least 60 seconds, the valve on the well was opened and the meter tubing was connected to the well tubing and allowed to pump for at least 60 seconds until the gas readings on the instrument stabilized. Measurements from each well for methane (CH4), oxygen (O2), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and carbon monoxide (CO) were then recorded on the Solid Waste Section, Landfill Gas Monitoring Data Form. The tubing was then disconnected from the well sampled with the well valve subsequently closed. Ms. Jaclynne Drummond, PG May 15, 2017 Page 2 of 2 Results Results from this monitoring event will be included in the site’s June 2017 Semi-annual Groundwater Monitoring Report. The report will be issued in July/August 2017. Landfill gas measurements for historically measured parameters (CH4, O2 and CO2) were consistent with historical data. The additional gases measured (H2S and CO) showed concentrations of zero percent (%) lower explosive limit (LEL)1 at all 11 gas monitoring well locations and at the scale house.
