ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Certified Transfer Station Operators’ documentation provided was as follows:
Travis Pope, exp. 7/16/20
David Wiggs, exp. 12/7/20
Douglas Jenkins, exp. 4/12/20
2. The service area for this facility is Craven, Cumberland, Duplin, Edgecombe, Greene, Johnston, Lenoir, Nash,
Onslow, Pitt, Wayne, and Wilson Counties.
3. Wind-blown is well managed.
4. The tipping floor is washed with a hot water pressure washer.
5. Fire extinguishers are on-site.
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and
any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

6. The waste is primarily transferred to Sampson County (82-02). East Carolina Regional Landfill (08-03) and
Johnston Co. MSWLF (51-03) serve as secondary disposal facilities. The trailers are hauled by Trio Legacy,
formerly Shavender Trucking.
7. Leachate is currently being collected in a 2,100 gallon tank and pumped as needed. The leachate is hauled by
M&C Septic Tank (Kinston) for proper disposal. The most recent pump-out was late November 2017.
8. All access roads are paved with no erosion problems.
9. Random inspections are being performed and recorded.
