ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. On November 11, 1991 ReUse Technologies submitted to the Solid Waste Section a request to fill part
of a 32.72 acre tract parcel ID# 387500004570.
2. On November 4, 2004 the Section was provided with a Closure Notice for the site.
3. Per the Groundwater Corrective Action Plan for the Former Swift Creek Coal Combustion By Product
(CCB) Structural Fill, CCB0057 approved by NCDEQ – Division of Waste Management on March 12,
2015, corrective action onsite activities began full time on April 24, 2017. Grading and ash moving
were occurring at the site at the time of the site visit.
4. A full history of the site, including the Monthly Project Updates for the Swift Creek Corrective Action
Plan Implementation, can be found in the Waste Management Online Documents system at
https://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/waste-management/waste-management-rules-data/e-documents
5. Water trucks are utilized to control road dust, as needed. No windblown dust from onsite activities or roadways
was noted during the inspection. Weather conditions were overcast with light rain during the inspection.
6. Completion of the project is expected by mid to late November depending on weather conditions.
7. The final slopes will be 4:1 with storm water breaks every 25 feet.
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
