OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
1) Septage was observed standing on the surface of Fields ST-1 and ST-2 near the access road in several
areas as noted in the pictures below. This is a violation of Rule .0838(a)(7) that states “Septage shall
be applied to the surface of the land from a moving vehicle in a such a manner as to have no
standing liquid or soil disturbance resulting from the waste flow after the discharge is complete.”
Any remaining septage ponding needs to be incorporated into the permitted fields or vacuumed up.
2) Areas of dead vegetation covered in with a coating of grease septage was observed in both ST-1 and ST-
2 application fields. Crop damage that occurs from applications is a violation of Rule .0838(a)(15) that
states “Grease septage shall be diluted at least 1:1 from its concentration when pumped with
domestic septage or water if land applied over perennial vegetation. This dilution shall be
increased if crop damage occurs…” Any remaining septage needs to be incorporated and then a fall
cover crop established within 30 days.
