FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 1. The Septage Land Application Site consists of one 10.5 acre field. 2. The site is permitted for land application of domestic septage and grease septage. 3. The site is located on Mizpah Church Road directly across from Penn Road and had an accessible all-weather road to the field. 4. Appropriate signage was displayed at the site with good all-weather access. 5. Disposal area boundaries delineated with permanent markers. It appears that appropriate buffers have been maintained. 6. All septage discharges appear to have been made within the disposal area boundary. 7. There is no evidence of standing liquid or pooled waste. The waste appeared to be evenly distributed throughout the field. 8. No objectionable odors were observed. 9. As a reminder, the nutrient management plan (NMP) stipulates: “The fescue will be cut as has and baled whenever it reaches approximately 12 inches in height or just before seedhead emergence. This will usually take place in late May and again in September or October. At least three fescue harvests will be made each year depending on environmental conditions.” Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding this inspection report. ____________________________ Phone: 828-296-4701 Troy Harrison Environmental Senior Specialist Regional Representative Sent on: 8/25/2017 X Email Hand delivery US Mail Certified No. [ _] Copies: Corinne Law, NC Solid Waste Section Connie Wylie, NC Solid Waste Section
