Re: Additional Work Activities
Alternate Source Demonstration Addendum Workplan
Kersey Valley MSWLF Permit No. 4104-MSWLF-1991
High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina
Dear Jackie,
Based on our phone discussions and a recent meeting with City of High Point personnel, the
following additional work activities are proposed for the June 26, 2017 ASD Workplan:
Groundwater Sample Collection
Three groundwater samples will be collected from the new monitoring well on the
morning following well installation and development. Two groundwater samples will
be collected using a new disposable bailer. One sample will be collected with a nitric
acid preservative and one sample will be collected unpreserved. The unpreserved
sample will be filtered in the laboratory using a 0.45 micron filter prior to adding the
preservative.
A third groundwater sample will be collected from the new well using low-flow
sampling methodology. This sample will be collected using a peristaltic pump to
slowly remove water within the screened section of the casing until the indicator
parameters (pH, conductivity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen) have stabilized.
The sample will then be collected in a container with nitric acid preservative.
Laboratory Analysis
The three groundwater samples will be analyzed for the full Appendix I inorganic
compound list. Also, the 3-4 soil samples collected during well installation will also
be analyzed for the full Appendix I inorganic compound list (total metals).
Thank you for reviewing this revised scope of work and we would appreciate any additional
comments or suggestions regarding these proposed response actions.
Respectfully,
Babb & Associates, P.A.
