Dear Mr. King:

Please find the revision to the approved amount of financial assurance required for the landfill. This
number reflects the status as of March 31, 2016. Shotwell Landfill closed approximately 7.3 acres at the
end of 2015, and is eligible for a reduction in the amount of financial assurance over the previous year.
I apologize for the delay in providing this letter. As you are aware the agency has been very busy dealing
with the coal ash cleanup issue in North Carolina. That, combined with the recently concluded general
assembly session, have delayed the processing of this letter.
The approved 2015 financial assurance is as shown below.

Closure $1,212,293.50
Post-Closure $1,035,000.00
Current Corrective Action -0-
Potential assessment and corrective action $1,010,000.00
TOTAL $3, 257,293.50

Please provide your updated financial assurance instrument for the year beginning March 31, 2016 to
