Larry and Ervin,
On behalf of Rockingham County, Joyce Engineering is notifying you that we have achieved the June
30, 2017, deadlines presented in our letter dated May 9, 2017, and addressed to Mr. Larry Frost RE:
Request Plan Updates, Landfill Facility and Alternate Source Demonstration Addendum: Volatile
Organic Compounds.
A temporary tank was installed to collect discharge from Surface Water Monitoring Point (SMP)-5 on
June 8, 2017 (see attached photo). The tank is inspected daily, and the contents are pumped to the
leachate pond, as necessary. The date and approximate quantity of the contents pumped are being
recorded.
The County has secured a contractor, Reynolda Electric Company, to inspect the LCS pumps,
controls and level switches. The inspection is to be completed by August 31, 2017.
