ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Septage Detention and Treatment facility (SDTF) consisted of one buried 1000 gallon holding tank and one
plastic 200 gallon floating pump tank. This facility shall only be used for storing domestic septage pumped from
boats and the waste from two marine style toilets with hand washing sinks as per the permit.
2. Set-back/buffer requirements appear to have been met as per 15A NCAC 13B .0841(m) except that .0841(m)(3)
has been reduced to 0 feet in accordance with .0841(q) based on engineering design and containment.
3. The 1000 gallon tank is equipped with an alarm that indicates when 700 gallons is reached. The 200 gallon
tank is connected directly to the larger tank via hose that runs beneath the walkway.
4. No Trespassing signs needs to be posted at the access points to the tanks as per 15A NCAC 13B .0841(k).
5. All weather roads are maintained for access to the site.
6. The tanks appeared to be structurally sound and well maintained.
7. The area around the detention and treatment area was found to be free of spills and debris.
8. No odors observed in the area of the detention and treatment area.
