Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. The site is secured with a gate at the entrance; controlled access for safety. 2. The entrance and haul roads are being maintained to provide all-weather access. 3. The landfill side slopes and cap are being maintained to prevent erosion; however, there were some bare areas noted. Within thirty days, these areas need to be addressed to allow for vegetative cover/growth. 4. An area of ponded water was noted on the cap, toward the westernmost side of the top of the landfill. This area needs to be addressed to prevent ponding water on the cap. 5. Erosion control measures are being utilized, with no offsite sedimentation noted. 6. All monitoring wells observed were locked, as required. 7. Gas is extracted for power generation and utilized on-site.
