Re: Bottom Ash Haul Road Improvement Report
Permit No.: 1804-INDUS
Marshall Steam Station
Catawba County
Terrell, North Carolina 28682
Dear Mr. Frost,
On October 11, 2016, Duke Energy received concurrence from NCDEQ Solid Waste Section to remove
eroded bottom ash from the toe of the Dry Ash Landfill Phase II (Permit No. 1804) and to improve the
bottom ash haul road. The work to remove the bottom ash and prevent similar erosion issues from
occurring in the future was completed the week of March 27, 2017. A work completion notice was
submitted via email on April 3, 2017, which included pictures and a statement referencing a more detailed
report which would be submitted at a later date.
Included with this submittal are as-built cross sections for the improved road and a report on construction
materials testing for the project.
If there are any questions regarding this submittal or if you need anything additional, please contact me at
(980) 373-5697.
Respectfully Submitted,
Tyler Hardin
