Subject: Greenway Waste Solutions at North Meck, LLC Permit Renewal/Modification Application Permit No. 60-13 CDLF CEC Project 111-370
On behalf of Greenway Waste Solutions at North Meck, LLC, and pursuant to 15A NCAC 13B.1603 (5), please consider this application a request for a permit renewal for the abovementioned facility. In accordance with 15A NCAC 13B .1603 (5), the facility must submit
an application for permit renewal and update applicable sections of the Permit to Construct.
A Permit Modification for this site was submitted to NCDEQ for review on August 25, 2014. Specifically, the permit modification is related to the final closure grades and stormwater features. The flat benches, as depicted in the permitted drawings, have been removed from the landfill face
and replaced with “tack-on” drainage swales constructed on the landfill side slopes to intercept
sheet flow run-off and convey the storm water to perimeter swales and sediment basins. The proposed revisions associated with this permit modification will increase the capacity for Expansion Area II and the Infill Expansion to 3,442,445 cy. The resulting additional capacity is 301,445 cy, a 9.6% increase in capacity from the permitted Expansion Area II and Infill Expansion
combined capacity.
At this time, the facility is not proposing any additional modifications to: • The operations plan;
• The facility plan;
• The engineering plan; • The construction quality assurance plan; • The monitoring plans; and • The closure and post-closure plan.
