On May 9, 2017 the Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section (Section) received Rockingham
County’s (County) response to the Section’s earlier requests. The Section’s earlier request were entitled;
Request Plan Updates, Landfill Facility. Prepared by Larry Frost. March 29, 2017. DIN 27553. and
Alternate Source Demonstration Addendum: Volatile Organic Compounds. Prepared by Ervin Lane. April
4, 2017. DIN 27583.
The County’s response is entitled;
Request Plan Updates, Landfill Facility and Alternate Source Demonstration Addendum: Volatile
Organic Compounds, Rockingham County Solid Waste Management Facility, Permit Nos. 7901 and
7904, Rockingham County, North Carolina, JOYCE Project No. 401.1701.12, Task No. 07. Prepared for
Rockingham County. Prepared by Joyce Engineering. May 2017. DIN 27761.
The Section has reviewed the County’s response (DIN 27761) and approves the dates/time frames
presented for addressing the Section’s concerns.
Finally, as a reminder the County is still expected to begin implementing assessment monitoring in
accordance with 15A NCAC 13B .1634 during the next semiannual groundwater monitoring event. All
