Subject: Mayo Steam Electric Plant Landfill (Permit No. 7305)
Elizabeth‐
With this email Duke would like to inform the Division of a schedule alteration to the assessment activities at the Mayo
Steam Electric Plant Landfill (Permit No. 7305). The groundwater assessment workplan was submitted to your office on
1/31/17 and subsequently approved on 3/22/17.
As the project has progressed and detailed access field verified, Duke learned that there will need to be significant road
installation work to an existing embankment for three of the well clusters. The access road activities were determined
by Duke geotechnical engineers to require stability analysis and detailed construction plan development. The addition
of a geotechnical investigation and detailed construction plan development has required additional time including a
revision to the previously submitted E&SC plans.

The current proposed schedule for the assessment activities is outlined below. Please let me know if the Division
concurs with the alterations from the initial workplan schedule. Feel free to call with any questions or comments.
Thanks‐
Kim
