ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Septage Detention and Treatment Facility consist of four 12,000 gallon steel lined solidifications dump pits.
Septage waste, grease trap waste, and other non-hazardous waste is solidified in the pits and sent for disposal at a
MSWLF facility.

2. The facility was cleaned out and empty and (according to staff) not been used for about 3 weeks. In addition,
there are no plans to reopen this facility. The solidification pits normally had been used for solidification of non-
hazardous liquid waste with the facility receiving minimal septage or grease trap waste.

3. Approved setbacks appear to have been met.

4. Appropriate signs are present.

enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
