On March 31, 2017 the Solid Waste Section (Section) received the following request from Gaston County (County); 

Unit 2, Phase 1 – Gas Extraction Well Additions, Gaston County Landfill, Gaston County, North Carolina, CHA Project 
Number 21420. Prepared for Gaston County. Prepared by CHA. March 2017. DIN 27578. 

The County’s request was for Solid Waste Section approval of the proposed layout and technical specification for 
additional gas wells to be installed in the Phase 1 MSWLF unit.  The Section has reviewed the submitted plans and 
specifications and finds they are protective of the landfill liner system. Therefore the Section approves the addition of 
the landfill gas wells in Phase 1 of the Gaston County Landfill, Permit No. 3606‐MSWLF‐1997.
