Dear Mr. Bell:
The NC Solid Waste Section has completed a review of the Amended Landfill Gas Monitoring Work Plan
dated April 3, 2017 (DIN 27594) submitted on your behalf by Amec Foster Wheeler for the C&D Landfill,
NC Solid Waste Permit Number 7407. Within a January 30, 2017 letter from the Solid Waste Section to
C&D Landfill, Inc., a revised landfill gas monitoring plan was required to be submitted for Solid Waste
Section approval.

The Amended Landfill Gas Monitoring Work Plan includes the following:
 Installation of 11 permanent direct push soil gas probes (SG-6, SG-7, SG-12, SG-13, SG-14, SG-15,
SG-16, SG-17, SG-18, SG-19, SG-20) scheduled to be installed in April 2017;
 Monitoring of the new probes in addition to several of the current bar hole punch locations
scheduled to be conducted in April 2017;
 Monitoring using a side-by-side comparison with the Facility's QRAE® gas sampling device and a
rented GEM 5000® gas meter; and
 Submittal of a summary report.

As a result, the Amended Landfill Gas Monitoring Work Plan is approved as described. If you have any
