The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Septage Detention and Treatment facility (SDTF) consisted of one 100 gallon, two 4,000 gallon, three 1,000 gallon, one 6,000 gallon, one 10,000 gallon and one 12,000 gallon tanks. The nine tanks have a total capacity of
39,100 gallons for the storage of untreated and treated waste.
2. There were no leaks or spills observed at the facility.
3. No odors were detected at the property lines. 4. No flies or other vectors were observed.
5. It appears that set-back/buffer requirements have been met.
6. Appropriate signage was in place at the entrance to the access road.
7. All weather roads are maintained for access to the site. 8. The ground around the tanks were well maintained.
9. Wood chips for septage composting operations (Permit Number 95-05-Compost) are stored adjacent to a tank.
10. Facility setbacks were maintained from exterior property lines. The Septage Detention and Treatment Facility and the compost facility operate on two adjoining properties owned by the each of the permit holders. The
property line was addressed in the original permitting action.
