ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Septage Detention and Treatment facility (SDTF) consisted of two 15,000 gallon above ground steel tanks for
storage and treatment of domestic septage (including portable toilet waste) and grease trap septage. Only one of
the tanks is in place and receiving septage. The other tank is on site but is not set up to receive waste. SDTF-03-
04-Permit Condition 8 states: “The second 15,000 gallon metal tank shall not be utilized for septage detention
until it has been placed in position, inspected by this office and found to be in compliance with NC Septage
Management Rules and permit conditions.”
Unused 15,000 gallon tank 15,000 tank in use.
2. All photographs were taken by Troy Harrison on November 3, 2015
3. Set-back/buffer requirements appear to have been met.
4. Appropriate signage (No Trespassing signs) is posted for the site.
5. All weather roads are maintained for access to the site.
6. The tanks appeared to be structurally sound and well maintained.
7. The area around the detention and treatment area was found to be free of spills and debris with the exception of
a small area next to the 15,000 tank that was in use which had a small amount of debris on the ground. As a
reminder, all waste that comes in contact with the ground must be disposed of properly.

8. No odors observed in the area of the detention and treatment area.
