Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 3 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 1. All photos were taken by Lee Hill on December 12, 2016 2. The site is located at the Lake Junaluska Assembly Public Works shop off of Sleepy Hollow Drive and is secured by a gate at the entrance. 3. The roads were constructed of gravel and were in good condition at the time of inspection. 4. The site only takes leaves from Lake Junaluska Assembly properties. 5. The leaves are ground and turned to maintain temperature. Leaves are then mixed with silt and given away to locals and used on Lake Junaluska Assembly property. Composted leaves must maintain 131oF for 3 consecutive days before they can be distributed to the public. 6. Minimal unacceptable material was observed at the time of inspection. Please continue to remove any unacceptable material and dispose of in the proper location. 7. Less than 6000 yds3 of material was on site and property line buffers appeared to be met at the time of inspection. 8. Surface water was adequately from the diverted from the operations and storage area of the facility.
